Fruit Jam exeptional
The preserves and jams we produce in Lanzarote, the biospherical nature reserve, are of a special kind, made according to tradicional recipes with fruit from the Canary Islands. Its home-made character is underlined, among other things, by using exclusively fresh or frozen fruit.
One of the most important fruits we use is the cactus plan fruit. This kind of cactus, called Higo Indio or also Higo Chumbo on the Canary Islands, bears a red fruit. It grows wild and very difficult to pick. Special gloves and picking poles with tongs have to be used for its harvest. As this cactus has developed two kinds os spine for its own protection, the pickers hardly get away without spines in their arms or legs.
The production process is determined by the selection of fruit at highest quality standards and by the following careful cooking process that maintains the fruitīs qualities. Raising the temperature slowly as well as stirring the fruit cautiously helps to preserve the vitamins and strengthens its special natural aroma.
No preservatives, artificial colours or flavours are used. The fruit content of our preserves is especially high, between 45 and 70%.
The preserves and jams are characterized by their recognized high quality and their extraordinary taste. The finished product is excellent to the palate and melts on the tongue.
